Step by step

Install guide

  1. Create your account

    Register a free game account on the control panel. Use a password you do not use anywhere else.

    Register →

  2. Download the full client

    Pick any mirror in the PC client list above. The download is one archive containing the game, the patcher and our custom files.

  3. Extract to a normal folder

    Extract to something like C:\Games\Classic90. Avoid Program Files and OneDrive/Desktop folders: Windows blocks the patcher from writing there.

  4. Allow it in your antivirus

    Some antivirus tools flag RO clients by mistake. Add the game folder as an exclusion if files go missing after extracting.

  5. Run the patcher

    Start the Classic90 patcher (TODO: final file name), let it finish downloading updates, then press Start.

  6. Log in and pick your path

    Use the account you registered, create your Novice, and meet us in Prontera.

Troubleshooting

My antivirus deleted a file or blocks the patcher

Restore the file from quarantine, then add the whole game folder as an exclusion and run the patcher again. If the archive itself is flagged, re-download it from a different mirror.

The patcher is stuck or says it cannot connect

Check that your firewall allows the patcher, wait a few minutes and retry. During maintenance the patch server can be offline: check the latest news or the Discord #announcements channel.

The game crashes on start or shows "Failed to set display mode"

Run the setup tool in the game folder, choose your graphics device and a windowed resolution your monitor supports, then save. Updating your graphics driver also fixes most crashes.

Black screen, tiny window or the game looks blurry

Open the setup tool and pick a resolution that matches your screen. On high-DPI laptops, right-click the game exe, Properties, Compatibility, Change high DPI settings, and tick "Override high DPI scaling".

I get disconnected right after logging in

Make sure you are on the latest patch (run the patcher, not the game exe directly). If the server is in maintenance you will be disconnected until it is back.

Android: the app will not install

Allow installs from unknown sources for your browser or file manager, free up storage, and make sure your phone runs Android 8.0 or newer.
